Art Therapist iac*

about me
If you are familiar with Colorado, its Rocky Mountains, its rich colors, its yellow fields and vast skies, you are familiar with where I grew up. At the age of 18, I moved to the coast of California and studied art at the University of California Santa Cruz. There I met my Swiss husband in an internship program and then made the move across the Atlantic. As an expat, I learned to live in a new world, with an entirely different language and culture. It has not always been easy. We raised four great kids here, and I taught English and did volunteer work. When the children got bigger, I resumed my artistic development with a portfolio from the School of Design Bern and Biel where I discovered art therapy. I have now completed the five years of art therapy training at iac in Zurich. It was a very enriching experience.
I also enjoy
being artistically active - reflecting, experimenting and expressing myself in different mediums
reading and studying – to remain intellectually, philosophically and spiritually stimulated
yoga, hiking, sailing, biking, dancing, traveling, spending time with family and friends

Feedback on individual therapy in the clinic
"This individual therapy has contributed significantly to the process. I have the feeling that at least as much could be worked on in the therapy as in the individual conversation with the psychologist. The combination of talking and painting and Ms. Jacobi's mirroring was especially helpful. Her questions helped me a lot in reflecting. Ms. Jacobi created an environment where self-knowledge could easily take place." (Ms. S., 27-year-old patient)
Outpatient Clinic Project
This book is a project I did during my internship in the outpatient clinic.
It offers an impression of what art therapy can look like:
